Progressive Taste of Vermont – Feb. 28With a guest-chef list that starts out with local culinary king, Chef Robert Barral of Caf´ Provence, the Progressive Taste of Vermont promises to be the palate pleaser of 2010.
Beginning at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, guests will arrive at The Lilac Inn, where they will be treated to savory sensations provided in the localvore arena with Crawford Family Farm, Orb Weaver Farm, Blue Ledge Farm, Champlain Orchards, Lilac Inn, Vermont Sandwich Company, Wood’s Market, Neshobe River Winery and Lincoln Peak Winery.
At 4.45 p.m., after a sumptuous sampling of appetizers and wines offered at the Lilac Inn, guests will be transported by Horse and Wagon down Park Street to the Brandon Inn, where cuisine will be aplenty. Here, chefs from a long list of local and nearby hotspots will be dishing up courses beyond compare.
Who’s on the list? Café and Gourmet Provence, The Brandon Inn, Sully’s, Cattails, Plan-It Sheri Catering, The Storm Cafe, Huntington House Inn, Rutland Country Club, Inside Scoop, Brandon Falls Diner and Vermont Wine Merchant. Plus new names are being added daily.
Guests won’t want to miss out on a dip in the Chocolate Fountain or rhythms by musicians Kenny Cifone and Rob Zollman. Guests can also participate in a silent auction of creative gift baskets and a live auction (led by Barb Watters) of enticing gift certificates.
All proceeds for this crowning culinary event will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Brandon, which opened in 2009, serving 70+ kids daily through the summer. The club continues to serve 35 children a day, most of whom are also served supper each night.
As a seasoned chef and caterer, Sheri Sullivan says she’s thrilled to be a part of the Progressive Taste of Vermont’s evening’s lineup, which is certain to leaving a lasting (and delicious) memory with all attendees.
“The Progressive Taste of Vermont will be an enjoyable and satisfying evening for the stomach as well as the soul!” Sullivan said.
Tickets for the event are limited, selling for $50 per person at Carr’s and the Boys & Girls Club of Brandon.
